Batavia, home to Batavia-born Ulysses S. Grant, is accessible by car, according to the U.S. National Park Service. The trail offers a series of sit-ins related to abolitionist movements as well as a history lesson on the history of slavery in America.

Also in Batavia is East Fork State Park, which has 85 miles of hiking trails, according to the U.S. National Park Service.

Visitors can spend a whole weekend browsing the museum's collection of more than 1,000 artworks and artifacts. Other museums nearby include the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. and the Ohio State Museum in Cleveland. Batavia has a variety of other museums as well as other attractions in the area, such as the American Institute of Architects.

Join the writing group that meets every second Saturday of the month at 19.30 in the Batavia Public Library. The Probate Court, which is located in the courthouse on the corner of East Main Street and Main Avenue in Batavia, will not be open to the public, including lawyers. If you have a court order for a preliminary hearing in criminal or civil proceedings or have filed your briefs with the court clerk, please enter through the courthouse entrance door. The public is closed on Wednesday 26 July and Thursday 1 August from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. To remind people not to gather in large groups, we will seal off the entrance to the courthouse and the parking lot in front of our office.

The Clermont County Treasury will be closed on Wednesday 26 July and Thursday 1 August from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. The lobby is open after the "Bring Ohio Back to Work" campaign rally on Thursday, July 26. On Wednesday, August 1st, 2016, our office will be closed from 5: 00 pm to 7: 15 pm. On Friday, September 1 and Saturday, October 2, 2017, we will be open to the public from 9.45 a.m. to 4.50 p.m. in our courthouse office.

Senior Services is hosting a special "Observation" event in the library on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 6: 30 - 8: 00 p.m., in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati - Clermont. All lifelong learning centres at the United Methodist Church Community Centre in Batavia and the Senior Centre are closed until further notice. Registered 5 - 14 year olds must register to receive a zoom - in conjunction with participation in this event. The Clermont County Juvenile Court, located in the Batavia, Ohio courthouse on the second floor of the courthouse, is accepting the applications. The court has the right to refuse access to this courthouse and to remove anyone who does not comply with the provisions of this order from the courtroom. The existing Probate Court facilities, located at Batavia Police Department and Clerkenwell Community Center, will remain operational while staff are available.
